To Sandy Cryder, VA RRI:
Just wanted to send you an update on the JRT I adopted this summer,
Ludi. He is a wonderful dog and I love him. I have sent several
emails and some pictures to his previous owner's wife and daughter.
They just sent me a beautiful poinsettia arrangement for Christmas!
Ludi adapted just fine to his new home. Unfortunately I had to
euthanize my older male JRT in November - he would have been 15
years old in January. It was heartbreaking for me. The 2 of them
got along well but Ludi seems perfectly happy being Only Dog now.
At some point in the future I may consider adopting another if Ludi
wants company. Ludi and I are going caroling on Christmas Eve with a
friend - we're hooking up her Morgans (my arab doesn't drive) with
carols on tape (because we can't sing!). Ludi will ride with me,
tied of course, and she will have a Springer. Wish us luck... Thank
you again for Ludi. I hope you and your family have a wonderful
holiday season!

I adopted
Deke early this spring and I am amazed how
quickly he’s become a member of the family. My other JRT, Grissom – a 5
year old shorty male, needed a playmate.
Before I got Deke, he was permanently
attached to me! Grissom is a little aggressive, so I wanted a playmate
that was larger than Grissom and Deke is
perfect. They spend countless hours rolling over each other on the floor
or chasing each other in the yard. Deke’s
favorite pastime
has become running up and down my fence with the pit bull in the next
yard.
I was afraid that Deke may be difficult to
handle. Jan told me he may have some housebreaking problems and was so
active that I needed to get him into agility trials to expend some of
that energy. So far, not one accident in the house and Grissom seems to
soak up all the energy Deke can expend!
As far as I can tell, I’m better off because I’m not always smothered
with affection, Grissom is better off because he has a friend to play
with, Deke is better off because he got
rescued and the world is better off because there’s one less stray
animal out there. How can you argue with that?
Deke
is a JRT mix and I would like to encourage everyone out there to
consider one. I had originally hoped to get another purebred, but he’s
taught me that even just having some JRT blood in his veins is enough to
give him that JRT personality we’ve all come to love so much.
I can’t thank the JTRCA and Jan Sapp enough. The work you do really
makes the world a better place. Keep up the great work!

My name is Jack.
We wanted a Jack Russell Terrier for a
few months. I started to search on my own & always came up empty handed
to an dead end. I belong to an Jack Russell group on yahoo after
posting I soon got several responses. I didn't want a puppy due the time
that goes into housebreaking. I wanted to rescue an JRT. So, a
friend that's on the group sent me an application. After, talking it
over with the rest of the family I proceeded to fill out the
application.
We looked at the Jack Russells that were
available & immediately fell in love with Jack. Jack seemed to be the
perfect dog for us & our living environment. Soon after putting our
application in we got a phone call telling us that the application was
approved. And Jack was living in Pa. At that time Cee told me Jack's
profile after that we knew he was certainly the perfect 1 for us. Soon
after that we made arrangements w/ Jack's owners to pick him up.
Sunday 4/4 /04 is when we picked up Jack.
From the moment I seen him I knew what I knew before that he was the
perfect dog for us. After bringing him home he fit right in as 1 of the
family. He is spoiled rotten. He loves it when I make breakfast I will
scramble an extra egg just for him. He loves playtime. He loves to play
with balls. He would love to be drafted for the next MBA. We are
learning bout him more & more each day as well as he is learning bout us
more & more.
I want to take this time to thank the
rescue for helping us in finding the perfect dog. Also would like to
thank Alona (jack's 1 owner) for doing such a great job in raising him.

We
would like to take this opportunity to thank the JRTCA for their assistance
through the web site, and all their great hard working people that assisted
us in finding our latest family member “Joey”. Joey is an adventurous fun
loving addition to our family, and we’d like to especially thank Jan Sapp,
and Kim Loar whom introduced us to Lynn Gangloff who welcomed us into her
home and was very knowledgeable about this breed. Upon arriving we knew
right away that we had found a new home for Joey. And from what we can
certainly tell, Joey is very happy as well!!
Thanks again!! Chris, Keith & Devin Monahan

Bruno
I’d like to take this
opportunity to thank the Eastern Regional Jack Russell Rescue for
assisting me in making the decision to add Bruno my Family. In
particular, I would like to send a special thanks to Jan Sapp and Kim
Loar for all their help and patience.
I am the proud owner of 3 Australian Shepherds and was in search of a
little brother for them when I came across the Jack Russell Rescue Web
Site. I knew for about 2 years now that I wanted a Jack Russell but was
just waiting for the right time. I was pushed to this decision after
reading a book called “Angus” written by Charles Siebert. Which, by the
way, I recommend to all the Jack Russell owners out there. It’s very
well written and heart wrenching!
Jan helped me pick the "perfect" JRT for our family. Even though I was
getting a little antsy, she helped me weed through all the JRT’s
personalities that were available until she found the one that would fit
us best. Let me tell you, she did a heck of a job… he REALLY is perfect.
It just baffles me to think that someone could give up such a wonderful
dog. Although, I do understand, sometimes we are left with no other
choice. Thank goodness for the Jack Russell Rescue. They’re doing a
great job. Keep up the good work everyone!!! We know you will find good
homes for all the JRT’s in need. From Bruno, his 2 brothers Jax, & Rocko
and sister Sheila too WE THANK YOU!
Sincerely,
Gino S Fodero Bethlehem, PA

Frankie
We adopted a Jack Russell Terrier named “Frankie” from the Eastern Regional
Jack Russell Rescue. We already had two Jack Russell Terriers, Sea Nipper
and Lucy, and we were looking for a third. We thought about getting a
puppy, but decided to see if we could find a dog through the Jack Russell
Terrier Rescue. We are so happy that we decided to go to the Russell
Rescue, because we found the perfect dog! We didn’t know how Frankie would
fit in with our other two Jacks, but it went reasonably well when they first
met. They have their moments together, but all in all they are adjusting
quite well. Frankie is a wonderful addition to our Jack family. He has such
a wonderful personality that is quite different than our other two Jacks,
and he is quite lovable. He likes to take walks in our fields, and he is
still trying to figure out what a horse is. We just love having him and he
seems to enjoy us! He especially loves to snuggle.
We would like to thank Jan Sapp and Kim Loar in helping us find the right
dog for our family.
