Russell Rescue is in great need of foster homes. Even if you can only foster one time, it could help save a Jack Russell.

We also offer the opportunity to "foster to adopt". This allows you to evaluate the suitability of a new rescue dog for your home and, at the same time, saves a dog.

Fosters agree to house and care for a Jack Russell until it gets adopted or until the foster family decides to adopt him or her.

Alex is a handsome young male that is not a dominant type. He seems to get on well with other dogs of both sexes. He may have had some rough handling in his past since he is very submissive to humans but he is becoming more confident every day in his foster home. He has even started to play with a tennis ball. Because he is a bit submissive he would work best in an adult home or a home with older, gentle children. Alex is neutered and up-to-date on shots.

It doesn't matter whether it's a basketball, a soccer ball, or tennis ball, just bring any kind of ball at all and he'll play with it!

Biscuit is a young (20 mo. old) neutered male, current on all his vaccinations and high on life. He is parasite free and microchipped. In addition to being crate-trained Biscuit is housebroken and loves to spend time inside with his foster parents and while there is very well-mannered. He is smooth coated and stands about ten inches at the withers and weighs 12 pounds. Presently Biscuit is being fostered in Central Virginia, near Richmond.

I am so happy to at last be given some attention! I love people and am extremely friendly. I adore playing with balls and would probably make someone a good agility dog as I'm a confident guy. I do best with female dogs for companions as I want to be the dominant boy. Because of my energy I would do best with older children since my enthusiasm might be too much for a toddler. With a little obedience training I'll make a wonderful pet. I'm eager to learn and ready to give someone lots of love.

What a handsome boy!! Jackson is a very friendly, athletic, and healthy three-year-old male who loves to play. He is housebroken and crate-trained, parasite free and current on all of his shots. He is very obedient and people-oriented but will not shy away from a good game of "chase me, chase you" with the other dogs.
